Human Resources Technician III

The purpose of this position is to provide technical guidance, support, and assistance to HR staff, employees, managers, appointing authorities, and executive directors regarding employee personnel actions and position information. The role involves both operational and technical responsibilities, with a primary focus on accurate and timely data entry into multiple information technology systems. The position emphasizes data integrity and professional customer service. It includes assisting employees with interpreting forms and procedures related to personnel actions, facilitating the onboarding of new employees, and coordinating new employee orientations by gathering necessary documentation to ensure a smooth onboarding process. Additionally, this role entails coordinating the creation and distribution of employee badges. The incumbent will also support various employee and personnel projects as assigned. Maintaining a high level of professional customer service and ensuring all requests are addressed within 24 hours is essential.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience Only: 3 years full-time experience performing high volume data entry and processing with accuracy.
  • Education and Experience: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly in human resources or with human resources staff
  • Experience performing data entry in a high-volume environment
  • Experience working with confidential employment records and information
  • Experience working with G-Suite applications
  • Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service and develop productive working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proven record of superior attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Knowledge of experience with state policies, procedures, and systems relevant to human resources or administrative functions
  • Demonstrated proficiency with multiple technology systems
  • Strong sense of professionalism and proven ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive and private information
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a changing work environment; ability to accept and manage new challenges and opportunities
  • Initiative & self-management, the passion and ability to dive into the work and accomplish tasks within established timeframes; ability to multitask and produce quality results evenly

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires a standard background check
  • Travel: This position is required to travel to attend meetings on occasion at off-site locations
  • This position will drive state fleet vehicles. This position must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Colorado Driver's License
  • MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD CHECK: This position will drive a state-owned vehicle, either in an on-going capacity while performing their normal day-to-day job duties OR on occasion for training/meetings/client visits/etc.
  • NAME CHECK ONLY: This position will have NO direct contact with vulnerable persons.
  • Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must:
    • Disclose that information on the application.

CDHS Selection Process Explanation:

Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a prorated basis to determine qualifications.
