The Methods Engineering & Equipment and Technology Development group develops transport and installation methods for the different DEME Offshore activities safeguarding technical feasibility, operational efficiency and workability. Additionally, the team develops the required equipment for the projects focused on safe and efficient operations, ensuring high workability and accelerating the pace of innovation. These Developments are coordinated in close cooperation with the commercial and operational departments to ensure solutions are fit for purpose. As a Methods & Mission Equipment Engineer at DEME Offshore, you are involved with the engineering of new transport and installation methods and the development of corresponding mission equipment. You will provide engineering support during project execution and follow-up on performance and any modifications or improvements to existing equipment.
Work together with your engineering colleagues in supporting tenders (20%), project & operational teams (80%);
Safeguard a sound engineering approach from tender to project preparation and execution;
Prepare functional vessel deck layouts and equipment set-ups;
Oversee vessel engineering (motion analysis, crane capacity, site specific assessments…);
Interface with the detailed design teams for mission specific equipment on board our vessels;
Work with engineering companies to review their designs, drawings and reports;
Work with suppliers to clarify technical requirements for (rental) equipment as part of the equipment spread
Prepare and follow up specifications for detailed design and fabrication;
Provide technical input and advice as well as assistance on site during the fabrication and installation of the equipment and during execution of the works;
MSc Degree in a relevant discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Civil or Structural Engineering);
Have an open mind, to think out of the box, with experience in concept engineering;
Be critical in reviewing information, communicative, problem solving and have attention to detail;
Have knowledge or be open to learn working with CAD programs (AutoCAD 2D/3D, Solidworks, Navisworks);
Speak and write fluent English;
Have a flexible attitude, adapt behavior and work methods in response to new information, conditions or unexpected obstacles.
