Job Description
We are looking for a Field Application Engineer for our Fan and Thermal Business. To own customer-facing technical success and drive liquid-cooling products from qualification to scale and lead design-in, validation, on-site support, and RMAs while bridging Sales, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Project leadership: Plan/track milestones, manage risks, and drive cross-functional execution from design-in to volume.
- Customer technical engagement: Capture requirements, discuss trade-offs, ensure spec compliance, and support architecture decisions.
- Validation & quality: Define/execute test plans (pressure/leak, flow, thermal, vibration); document results and close actions.
- On-site technical support: Triage, stabilize, and optimize performance at data centers and customer facilities.
- RMA management: First response, on-site fault isolation, coordinate failure analysis with factory, implement and verify corrective actions.
- Manufacturing/process interface: Solid understanding of liquid-cooling manufacturing (brazing/welding, cleaning, leak/pressure/helium testing, flushing, packaging, traceability) and close collaboration with the manufacturing team to ensure quality and yield.
- Market & roadmap input: Synthesize customer needs and trends into product requirements and cost/quality targets.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Thermal, Mechatronics, or similar background.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years in thermal/fluid systems (data-center cooling, HVAC/CRAC/CDU, server OEM, or related).
- Hands-on with pumps/valves/filters/sensors, coolant chemistries (water-glycol/dielectric), and reliability test methods.
- Strong knowledge of liquid cooling (cold plates, CDUs, manifolds, pumps, QDs) and manufacturing processes (brazing/welding, cleaning, leak/pressure testing, flushing).
- Proven project management experience to drive projects forward and hit dates.
- On-site technical support capability at customer/data-center locations and RMA handling.
- Ability to adapt quickly to fast, dynamic environments and full of team spirit.
- Ability to discuss technical topics with customers, including design for manufacturing and cost improvements.
- Ability to design with AutoCad 3D, Pro/E, SolidWorks.
- Strong cross-department communication.
- Fluent English; other languages are a plus.
