Join us as a Hardware Engineer of the Hardware Engineering Rotation Program within the Infrastructure Solutions Group team in possible locations of Round Rock, Texas or Hopkinton, MA to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.

The Hardware Engineering Rotation Program allows for candidates new to Hardware engineering and/or infrastructure technology solutions to join a fast-paced, dynamic organization in a streamlined process that encourages learning and growth. The program consists of multiple rotations to allow new hires the ability to learn across different projects, solutions, and specific tasks needed to bring our products to market. Built into the program are key opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and support from across the organization.

As a Hardware Engineer of our ISG Hardware Engineering Rotation Program, you will be supported by technical subject matter experts, mentors and peer advisors that will provide day to day support, grow your Dell network, and assimilate you into the Dell and ISG culture.

You will:

  • Demonstrate self-initiative and implement work plans and schedules
  • Perform, design and develop engineering assignments related to hardware products and systems, including development of new products or updates to existing products
  • Ensure applicability of component design and conformity of products and disciplines to established standards as well as specifications
  • Understand and adhere to cost targets established during the program design phase
  • Use tools appropriately with technical guidance and complete tasks as well as assignments under normal supervision

Essential Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a computer, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree with a graduation date of December 2025 or May 2026.
  • At least one scripting language such as Python, PERL, or bash
  • Understanding of hardware and software interactions, and able to apply this understanding to resolve issues
  • Reading and understanding engineering specifications, data sheets and other technical documents
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, experience in design, thermals and/or controls; experience in Creo/Solidworks, Flowtherm/Icepack, and/or Simulink modeling (Mechanical Engineering)

Desirable Requirements:

  • Direct experience with x86 or ARM computer architectures and chipsets, schematic tools, PCB layout tools, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
  • Various I/O protocols, such as PCIe, SAS, SATA, Gigabit Ethernet and IPSec; High speed design experience (>1Gbs)
  • Demonstrate AI literacy and a proactive approach to leveraging AI tools to optimize hardware design, validation, and testing workflows, enhance system performance analysis, and accelerate innovation.

Compensation: Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this position is $85,502-$110,649.
