Summary: At the Shipley State Service Center, the Social Service Specialist III position will interview clients to determine need, eligibility, and courses of action for emergency assistance programs. The Social Service Specialist III documents client information in the narrative form, refers ineligible clients to appropriate agencies and resources, utilizes resources of social service agencies and the community as a means of dealing with identified needs/crisis, and promotes effective public relations for Division of Social Services/Family Support. In addition, this Social Service Specialist will act as lead worker assisting in all emergency situations that may arise as well as ensuring uninterrupted services delivery and reviewing EAS cases completed by lower-level Social Service Specialists. Other duties may be assigned by the Administrator when needed.
