As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and qualifying leads to fuel the growth of our sales pipeline. Through outbound and inbound work, you'll be engaging with business leaders of various roles, understanding their challenges, and positioning Degreed as the ideal solution to meet their needs and strategic business goals. You will play a pivotal role in the sales process, setting the stage for deeper conversations and partnerships between our potential new enterprise clients and Degreed.
In this role, you'll develop a deep understanding of our products and how they can impact workforce learning and skill-building at scale. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic company and work closely with a passionate team dedicated to transforming the way people learn and grow.
This role is hybrid, based at Degreed's office in Utah.
Key Skills
- Sales Development Expertise: 1+ years of outbound SDR experience with a strong foundation in sales methodologies and value-based selling.
- Sales Prospecting & Lead Qualification: Skilled at identifying and reaching out to potential clients through cold calling, email, social media, and other methods, and qualifying leads against target profiles.
- Strategic & Analytical: Ability to think strategically, track key metrics, and use data to optimize outreach initiatives.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and other teams to align on strategies and goals.
- Adaptability & Innovation: Quick to learn and apply new tools, processes, and strategies in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication & Active Listening: Strong verbal and written skills to engage prospects, convey Degreed's value, and tailor solutions to client challenges.
- CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems to manage leads, track interactions, and measure outcomes.
- Time Management & Organization: Skilled at managing multiple leads and tasks, with strong prioritization of outreach and follow-ups.
- Resilience & Persistence: Positive, determined mindset in navigating rejection and driving consistent activity.
- Research Skills: Ability to analyze companies, industries, and decision-makers to craft personalized outreach.
- Goal-Oriented: Driven to meet and exceed lead generation and sales targets.
- Product Knowledge: Solid understanding of Degreed's platform and ability to articulate its value to prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect potential new prospects and clients through deep account/contact research, outbound calls, and emails, social media outreach, and in-person events.
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings for our sales team with key decision-makers that will progress to opportunities.
- Leverage sales tools and technology to optimize outreach processes efficiently.
- Develop a deep understanding of Degreed's platform and how it addresses the needs and goals of corporate learning and development and broader business strategies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless handoff of leads.
- Partner with Sales Directors to develop deep account planning and outreach strategies, while multi-threading opportunities to progress the sales cycle.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach and lead progress in our CRM system.
- Aid in execution and communication of events to drive attendance and optimize lead and pipeline generation.
Compensation
We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The total pay range for this role is $40,000 - $60,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
