Construction Services Coordinator
The Construction Services Coordinator manages low to moderately complex construction contracts, professional services contracts, and services contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. The position holder may provide support in more complex contracts following functional guidance from a contracts coordinator. The position holder participates in daily discussions and negotiations with contractors and client partners regarding quality of work, interpretation of contract documents, changes to scope of work, review of periodic payment requests, and other relevant topics. They manage the risks associated with contract management within delegated authority and ensure compliance with departmental requirements.
Key Activities and Periodic Tasks
- Manage contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Coordinate and resolve daily contract issues.
- Monitor and control schedules.
- Liaison with client partner representatives (e.g. market related issues and risks).
- Maintain records of site executed activities (e.g. photos and activity reports) as needed.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and issue corrective purchase orders.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships within Construction Defence Canada as well as with industry, client partners, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, in accordance with the expectations of the Corporation and client partners.
Other
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements, as well as industrial safety.
- Perform financial control of contracts.
- Coordinate expert consultant construction reviews and third-party testing.
- Manage market-related risks.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- General and specific practices, methods, trends, and legislation in construction.
- Construction products and materials.
- Principles of project management, contract management, and risk management.
- Health and safety management.
Education/Certification(s) and Experience
- Minimum Requirement: A college diploma in engineering, applied sciences, or a related field, and approximately two years of relevant experience, or equivalent.

- Implement project management, contract management, and risk management techniques in construction and consulting contracts.

Working Conditions
- The position holder works on typical construction and industrial sites, where basic safety equipment is mandatory.

CFB Borden opened in 1916. It is located approximately 20 kilometers west of Barrie, in the central-south part of Ontario. From the beginning, the base has served to train members of the Canadian Forces. A multi-year infrastructure construction program is underway, aiming to bring all training and housing functions together in two distinct areas.
