Construction Services Coordinator Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity in the Centre-Nord region (CNR)!
The position holder must be present on site (Richmond, Ontario) 5 days a week.

The Coordinator, Construction Services manages construction contracts of moderate complexity, professional services contracts, and construction services contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. The position holder participates in daily discussions and negotiations with contractors, consultants, and client partners regarding the quality of work, interpretation of contract documents, changes to the scope of work, review of periodic payment requests, and other relevant topics. They manage the risks associated with contract management within delegated authority, ensure compliance with service sector requirements, and integrate activities with site teams and other service sectors.
KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES Here is a representative, but not exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities related to the position: Main duties
- Manage contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and quality estimates.
- Coordinate and resolve daily contractual issues.
- Monitor and control schedules.
- Liaison with client partner representatives (e.g., market-related problems and risks, and negotiation and issuance of corrective orders).
- Maintain records of site activities (e.g., photos and activity reports).
- Liaison with other service sectors and site teams as needed.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships within Defence Construction Canada as well as with the industry, client partners, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, in accordance with the expectations of the Corporation and client partners.
- Manage market-related risks.
Other
- Manage financial records of the contract.
- Coordinate the review of construction by consultants and third-party testing.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements, as well as industrial safety.
- Support or lead business expansion activities.
- Perform other tasks as requested.
SKILLS General and specific knowledge
- Best practices, methods, trends, and legislation in construction.
- Construction products and materials.
- Principles of project management, contract management, and risk management.
- Health and safety management.
Education/Certification(s) and Experience
- Minimum requirement: a college diploma in engineering, applied sciences, or a related field, and four years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
- Asset: a certification in a relevant field (e.g., Certified Engineering Technologist).
Skills
- Use appropriate software and operating systems.
- Interpret plans and specifications.
- Apply project management, contract management, and risk management techniques in construction and consulting contracts.
DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The position holder works on typical construction sites, where it is mandatory to wear basic safety equipment.
- The position holder sometimes works in a typical office environment and is occasionally required to travel.
