Office & Guest Services Manager
Our year round YMCA Camp Chingachgook location is seeking a dynamic individual to lead the Office & Guest Services functions. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening community. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Office & Guest Services Manager supervises and administers the financial services, family communications, and administrative resources to support operations at YMCA Camp Chingachgook. The Manager is responsible for supporting YMCA Camp Chingachgook families with exceptional service and care as they navigate all parts of the registration, preparation, and camp experience. As a member of the Camp Chingachgook and Capital District YMCA team, the Manager must be able to center equity in their day-to-day work to enhance community access and inclusion at camp.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree and/or two years of administrative experience required.
- Proven experience in accounting, financial systems, computer technology, marketing and general business procedures are required.
- Advanced computer skills, including the ability to use word processing, camper management database and spreadsheet software.
- Must be highly attentive to detail and follow through, resolve problems, be aware of deadlines and organize workload to meet them.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent team builder and team player; ability to work self-directed.
- Dynamic problem solver with leadership abilities who can empower staff to give superior customer service to guests, visitors and campers.
- Polished, professional demeanor with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Experience with social media, web, email & print marketing preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience working with youth, teens and adults in an outdoor recreation or summer camp capacity.
- Current certifications in CPR/AED, First Aid; or trainings to be completed within 30 days of hire.
- An entrepreneurial attitude seeking continual process improvement and revenue generation.
- Oversight and accountability for all related budgets.
- Act as brand ambassador, collaborating with all departments of YMCA Camp Chingachgook.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of the YMCA and its capacity to build strong kids, families and communities through programs that are inclusive and welcoming of all. The ability to articulate and model YMCA’s four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibilities are essential.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday: 8 hours shifts between 9:00am - 5:00pm, with occasional shifts for nights or weekends for outreach events and/or in summer for check in days
Full Time at 40 hours per week
