The Director of Marketing develops and leads proven processes for creating marketing and campaign strategies that drive brand awareness, strengthen brand perception, and fuel growth.
Leads strategy and planning for brand, demand generation, partner marketing, and product marketing in support of critical business strategies.
Guides cross organizational teams in the development of a unique and engaging content marketing strategy and assets built in collaboration with DeepSeas and external subject matter experts.
Develops collaborative processes amongst the marketing team and key internal and external stakeholders.
Establishes marketing goals based on business and revenue objectives and translates goals into innovative strategies that elicit action and change perceptions.
Develops marketing program that builds brand awareness, improves brand attitude, drives market demand, encourages inclusion in persona consideration sets.
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the DeepSeas brand value.
Builds and directs annual department budget in concert with the CMO, business objectives, and annual marketing plan.
Responsible for directing and maintaining strategic vendor relationships – inclusive of contract negotiations.
Coaching and development of direct reports.
Some travel required.
10+ years of marketing experience, 3+ years in cyber security.
Startup / growth stage experience.
Experience working with channel partners.
A strong sense of ownership and accountability with the ability to effectively lead a team.
Experience developing B2B, B2C, and/or B2B2C marketing strategies and deploying a full suite of integrated marketing communication required.
Working knowledge of content marketing strategies and tactics.
A natural collaborator with expert consultancy and relationship building/management skills – particularly seeing the big picture while also understanding the nuanced details that can slow down plan execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills to serve as a leadership representative of the marketing department and DeepSeas as an organization.
Problem solver with the ability to make tough choices, prioritize appropriately, and leverage data to develop a clear and measurable strategy.
Must be able to optimize for speed while not sacrificing quality of output.
Proven ability to plan and direct budgets.
Must be willing and able to continue learning and growing within the marketing field and cybersecurity industry.
