Position Description
deciBel Research is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. In this role the candidate will perform Systems and Hardware Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, hardware fault analysis, hardware testing, environmental testing, and hardware to software interface definition as part of the IDT product team.
The candidate should have a background in hardware to include experience developing Test Plans, performing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT), and knowledge of hardware to software interfaces, as well as experience diagnosing hardware faults (fault detection and fault isolation). The candidate should be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Education Requirements
BS Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 5 years of experience; 3 years of experience with Masters degree, or 1 year experience with a PhD.
Experience Requirements
- Prior experience developing Test Plans and Test Procedures for DoD programs
- Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs
- Prior experience working using DOORS
- Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo
Special Skills Desired
- Prior experience using Atlassian Tools
- Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices
- Prior experience as a Product Owner
- Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis
- Familiar with Software Containerization and Orchestration
- Familiar with DevSecOps
- Prior experience working with MIL-STD-810 and performing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
- Prior experience working with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA)
- Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) per MIL-STD-461 and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) per MIL-STD-464
- Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with High-Altitude electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) per MIL-STD-188-125-1 and MIL-STD-188-125-2
- Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) per MIL-HDBK-344
