Job Overview

• Maintains Linda E White Hospice by vacuuming carpets, cleaning bathrooms, dust and wet mopping applicable floors, and dusting/cleaning rooms, offices, furniture and various surfaces.
• Performs daily and terminal cleaning of patient and family rooms.
• Sanitizes furniture and surfaces according to policy.
• Replenishes soap, toilet tissue and paper towels as appropriate.
• Empties wastebaskets and removes trash from the building.
• May operate commercial vacuum cleaners, sweepers, trash/utility carts and high-speed burnisher.
• Dusts and/or washes blinds or other window coverings as applicable. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Washes interior windows.
• Cleans pantry, dining and hospitality areas including appliances, ice machines, coffee makers, microwaves, dishwashers and ranges.
• Transfers sharps containers to central pick-up location.
• Respects personal and medical information in the strictest confidence. Job-related access to protected health information is outlined in the "Limitation of Access to Protected Health Information Worksheet".
• Demonstrates professionalism when dealing with patients, visitors, or staff when following up with patient requests and other customer concerns.
• Performs all other duties as may be required.

Education:

Required

• GED or better.
• High School or better.

Experience:

Preferred

• High school graduate, or the equivalent, with demonstrable math and reading capabilities. Three (3) months housekeeping experience preferred.
