Rigging Engineer 3

We're looking for a full-time, staff Rigging Engineer 3 to join our Day & Zimmermann team. The Rigging Engineer 3 is expected to provide technical rigging support to both EPC and Maintenance projects and proposals of varying complexity in industrial, fossil, renewables (solar), and nuclear power market. Able to prepare and develop rigging analysis, rigging plans, scopes of work, and detailed deliverables in support of internal construction team. Collaborate with project teams both in the office and onsite including Client's, Construction, and engineering to deliver EPC and Maintenance projects. The position could require the individual to provide rigging administrative and supervisory functions on the assigned project, including the development of rigging scope documents, engineering budgets, schedule and associated staffing plans and management of assigned staff.

As Rigging Engineer 3, here's the work you will do:

  • Prepares or checks rigging drawings, calculations, sketches, and specifications
  • Responsible for Rigging engineering proposals including scopes of work, execution planning, work hours estimates, staffing and scheduling across all market sectors
  • Provides technical rigging assistance on project sites to support development and implementation of rigging plans
  • Provides coordination of design efforts with other subcontractors, equipment suppliers, construction and client personnel
  • When responsible for work, stamps required project documents as a PE
  • Travel to job sites and outage sites

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Experience in effective development of rigging engineering projects of varying complexity including new construction, maintenance/modification and critical lifts
  • Experience in a variety of lifts for equipment, tanks, and structural modules
  • Strong organizational skills for multiple projects in industrial and power markets and knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction style projects
  • Able to flex into other roles and responsibilities
  • Exhibits both technical breadth and depth of rigging engineering and means and methods and is able to effectively communicate and develop complex technical solutions
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate rigging activities with Client, Construction and Project Teams
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite applications and AutoCAD, and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages
  • Able to work in Bluebeam

And these qualifications:

  • ABET BS Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • 6 years experience in Rigging engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred)
  • NCEES accreditation (preferred)
  • Member of Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (preferred)

In compliance with this states pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $102,880 - $154,320. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
