Operations Manager

Day Translations is a global translation and interpreting company. We help improve worldwide communication through accurate, localized translations, interpretation, and outsourcing services, and a wide variety of tailored language solutions for individuals, organizations, and businesses of all sizes. We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our team. This person will be responsible for overseeing the execution of all projects performed within the Operations Department, including Translation, Interpreting, Audiovisual Translation (AVT), and Localization. The Operations Manager ensures the quality and timeliness of deliveries, optimizes workflows and resources, maintains cost-effectiveness, and drives overall departmental performance. This role will directly supervise Project Managers and divisional Operations Managers, while reporting to our Chief Operations Officer.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Project Managers and divisional Operations Managers across all departments (Translation, Interpreting, AVT, Localization), ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest quality standards.
• Oversee the development and optimization of processes, tools, and best practices across the Operations Department.
• Ensure cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and profitability of all services provided.
• Maintain tracking systems for recording metrics to evaluate performance and client satisfaction across all divisions.
• Identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities within Operations by continuously monitoring key performance and production indicators.
• Anticipate risks, obstacles, and resource challenges across multiple teams and provide strategic solutions.
• Foster collaboration and clear communication across the Operations Department and with other departments in the company.
• Provide visibility into large-scale projects and report progress against company-wide operational goals.
• Support the professional growth of Project Managers and operations staff through guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in an operations management role within the language services industry (Translation, Interpreting, AVT, or Localization).
• Deep knowledge of language services operations, evolving industry needs, technologies, and processes.
• Hands-on experience with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast, Memsource, XTM) and TMS platforms (Translation Management Systems).
• Ability to evaluate, introduce, and manage new technologies such as automation, AI, and machine learning tools within operations.
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, mediation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with proven experience engaging senior leadership and cross-departmental teams.
• Proven experience managing cross-functional teams, budgets, and large-scale projects.
• Strong background in developing and implementing operational systems, processes, and performance tracking.
