The Point of Service Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Patient Access department and making sure the functions – including ambulatory registration, emergency medicine registration, admissions, scheduling, point of service collections and outpatient lab and imaging registration operate efficiently. Understands regulatory and third-party payer guidelines for outpatient and inpatient services while being familiar with manage care, Medicare and Medicaid rules regarding billing, coverage and reimbursement rules. Monitors key metrics, assists in performing root cause analyses and develop action plans when metrics do not meet internal goals or industry best practices. Assists department manager in developing and monitoring adherence to specific goals, performance standards and policies & procedures for each area of responsibility. Define, implement and manage clear quality and productivity standards across all areas of responsibility. This leader researches and seeks to implement emerging best practices to increase patient access, promote a positive patient experience and denial prevention reducing bad debt.
Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm No weekends or holidays
High School diploma or GED is required Associates degree in related field preferred
Minimum two years of patient access or large hospital/medical front office experience Minimum two years of leadership or supervisory experience, demonstrating the ability to lead and motivate team Leadership Program completion within one year of hire
Clarivate Certified Access Specialist Certification completion required within one year of hire
Proficient in customer service and data collection processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to lead and motivate a team Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, insurance and compliance requirements Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in patient access or in a large hospital/medical front office setting At least three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience Proficiency in medical terminology Experience with Epic (EMR) systems preferred
