Senior Optical Transport Engineer
Work Location: Philadelphia, PA; New Jersey; or Denver, CO
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Optical Transport Engineer to join our Core Transport Engineering team. This is a critical role focused on executing major in-house optical network upgrades aimed at driving cost savings and enhancing infrastructure capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in optical transport engineering and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing optical network systems. The role requires a deep understanding of optical networking technologies and the ability to lead complex projects from conception to completion.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing optical network upgrades
- Optimizing network performance and reliability
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Staying abreast of the latest developments in optical networking technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in optical transport engineering
- Proven track record of successfully leading optical network projects
- Strong understanding of optical networking protocols and technologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
