Mechanical Engineer - Packing Plant

Plan and coordinate all packing plant production and maintenance activities to prevent disruptions to packing plant operations and ensure targets for the plant are met.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and articulation of the plant's maintenance plan.
• Ensure that mechanical maintenance is carried out properly & safely as per the requirement of the plant/ terminal.
• Carry out maintenance of packing plant's mechanical equipment.
• Ensure proper housekeeping of job areas and plant in general.
• Oversee liaison with the relevant HSE personnel for the provision of personal protection equipment and safety training.
• Enforce the use of personal protection equipment during respective shift to prevent accidents.
• Ensure effective on-the-job training of packing plant operators.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head, Packing Plant from time to time.

Requirements

• BSc./HND in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent 2 to 9 yrs experience
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or in a similar role
• In-depth knowledge of the cement packing machines/ functions and procedures
• Strong knowledge of methods, techniques and procedures involved in maintenance repairs and replacement.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and techniques in mechanics; and considerable knowledge of parts and supplies required.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment's with accuracy and speed
• Good leadership and supervisory skills
• Good problem solving and analysis skills
• Ability to pay attention to details
• Good relationship management and communication skills
