Senior HR Manager

The purpose of this role is to provide expert HR and commercial knowledge to partner strategically with the Irish leadership team to develop and align the market people plan and initiatives to drive business growth. The role will also be the main point of contact for the business on all people-related matters.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK&I HR team supporting the Irish business during its next period of change.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy
- Working closely with the UKI CPO and HRLT together with the business, develop and deliver an appropriate people plan that delivers a positive employee experience and allows the business to grow.
- Establish effective relationships with the HR Centres of Excellence (CoEs), to identify how these CoEs can help improve employee experience and then lead on communication, implementation and measurement of key people initiatives and programmes to support a vibrant, fast-paced, and high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with the Media and CXM HRDs on a one dentsu approach to key people initiatives and programs to ensure alignment when appropriate.
Senior Business Relationships
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with the Irish Leadership team (with a focus on Market Lead, COO, CFO and Client Lead). Establishing creditability and trust as a strategic business partner through developing a robust understanding of the business direction and landscape.
- Leveraging strong influencing skills, acting as a confidante, coach, and constructive challenger.
- Educating, as appropriate, on how to effectively utilise the HR Centres of Excellence.
- Supporting senior leaders to be role models who demonstrate strong leadership behaviours and accountabilities, and cascade this through their teams.
Talent Strategy & Management
- Supporting senior leaders to attract, develop, motivate, mobilise, and retain the calibre of talent which will drive the business forward.
- Working in partnership with the UKI Talent CoE, drive an effective talent planning agenda.
Performance Development
- Driving an effective approach to performance development through senior leaders, developing a high-performance and effective feedback culture.
Business Management
- Having a clear understanding of the organisational capabilities and how best to develop these through the HR strategy.
- Developing a robust understanding of business financial performance and commercials and providing inputs to the budget and planning process as needed.
Change Management
- Leading and advising senior leaders on key organisational people change management initiatives (organisation culture change, business process re-engineering, reorganisations, organisational design).
Data and Insights
- Utilising data and insight to support leaders, drive informed decision making and as a measure of output and initiatives.
HR Operating Model
- Ensuring that the bulk of HR investment is focused on high value activities, which provides a strategic benefit to the functions.
- Working with UK&I CPO to develop plan to enable People Services to start to support Irish Business together with fully utilising CoEs.
- Supporting leaders and their teams to effectively access the right HR support from the right places, ensures operational HR work is directed accordingly, promotes, and encourages self-service.
Qualifications + Skills
This is a senior HR role and as such we are looking for someone passionate about HR with a commercial, proactive, and strategic mind-set who wants to drive transformation and change with an ability to gain the buy-in from key stakeholders and to understand the business at its core. To be successful, this individual will embody the culture of dentsu and thrive in a global, inclusive, creative, fast-paced, collaborative, environment. The individual will also need to have strong knowledge of the Irish market and relevant people/employment practices appropriate to this market.
The desired attributes include:
- A strong track record of leading across the full spectrum of HR activities including talent, performance, development, change management, and reward.
- An ability to drive the strategic HR agenda with senior leaders, drawing on Centres of Excellence where required and educating the senior leadership team on how to effectively utilise the centres of excellence and what the various touchpoints are.
- Proven experience of managing large-scale change programmes.
- Ability to create and deliver complex HR project plans, ensuring governance and delivery to agreed timescales across various HR and business stakeholders.
- Proven experience in organisational design including the ability to coach and influence business leaders to ensure the right design principles are developed and followed.
- Understanding of the cultural differences in ways of working and the ability to coach senior leaders to adapt their style to engage and motivate their team positively across all geographies.
- Strong employment law knowledge and an ability to identify, assess, and advise on risks at both a company and individual level.
