The Technical Support Engineer for Leica Biosystems is responsible for providing technical support via phone or email by diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging electromechanical equipment, computer systems, complex software, or networked and/or wireless systems.

This position reports to the Director of Technical Support, is a part of the Customer Technical Support team located in Vista, CA/Deer Park, IL and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide expert-level support through system analysis, customer consultations, software/hardware troubleshooting, installations, upgrades, and migrations, including high-complexity tasks like SSL, LDAP, and DMZ configurations.
• Resolve complex technical issues on high-end pathology imaging instruments by applying advanced analytical skills and synthesizing information from multiple sources.
• Lead and mentor by training less experienced associates, managing support queues, documenting service activities, and guiding customers on diagnostics, repairs, and spare parts to ensure high-quality service delivery.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of relevant experience OR Associates degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience is defined as high skill level in MS SQL and/or databases.
• 1+ years of experience with installation and technical support for Windows-based software and TCP/IP networking.

Travel Requirements:

• This position requires up to 15% flying and/or driving travel, which may potentially include overnight stays.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Theoretical and practical application of specialized information to computer systems analysis, programming, and/or image processing applications.
• Medical devices, applications, and/or regulated environments.

The hourly range for this role is $30.00 - $40.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
