The Scientific Support Specialist is responsible for providing researchers with best-in-class pre-and post-sales product support for our antibody-based research solutions that drives revenue growth through relationship building and lead generation. The role directly supports researchers supplying technical information, assisting in experimental design and optimization, and product recommendation.

This position reports to the Scientific Support Manager in the Scientific Support team, located in Waltham MA, and will be ONSITE five days a week.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Help customers with product recommendations, experiment optimization, and complaint troubleshooting via chat, email, and phone to deliver the best customer outcomes with high commercial awareness, recognizing sales opportunities and leads.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Managers and R&D to deliver technical talks and meet with customers, understanding customer needs and requirements to recommend suitable solutions and products, and educate researchers on the use of Abcam products in antibody-based applications.
  • Gather customer insights regarding new scientific trends and product needs to help expand Abcam's product portfolio.
  • Stay up-to-date on new products, applications, and techniques through webinars and trainings.
  • Continually think of, suggest, and help implement process improvements to enhance product quality and customer experience

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Master's degree in a life sciences field
  • 2+ years additional laboratory research experience using antibodies and related reagents in at least one antibody-based application (WB, IHC, ICC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, IP, ChIP, any multiplex assays)

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires up to 20% flying and/or driving travel, which may potentially include overnight stays.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • PhD in life sciences field with laboratory research experience using antibodies and related reagents in antibody-based applications
  • Experience teaching or supervising staff or students
  • This role supports LATAM customers - Spanish proficiency is a plus
