Resin and Ligand Design

Resin and Ligand Design is a department that belongs to the Resin and Technology and Filtration R&D. Typical products developed from the department are chromatography resins and other consumables used in BioPharma manufacturing.

Position Overview

We are now looking for a Master level applicant within the field design and optimization of new affinity ligands for chromatography. You will, as part of R&D, contribute to the development of disruptive products which are used in the manufacturing of leading biological drugs.

What You'll Do

This position focuses on the alkaline stabilization of proteins for the development of affinity ligands. Alkaline stability is a critical property that ensures ligand compatibility with industrial process requirements.

In this project, the student will be involved in the development and optimization of methods for characterizing and ranking protein ligand candidates, with a particular emphasis on alkaline stability. The student will also be responsible for producing their own test materials to support method development.

The work will include a variety of molecular biology techniques such as cloning, recombinant protein expression, protein purification, SDS-PAGE, Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), and more.

  • Independently plan and accomplish given tasks, to reach given project objectives.
  • Independently solve problems of "trouble shooting character" in project work.
  • Document and report results both orally and in a written form.
  • Conduct all tasks within the framework of Cytiva policies and guidelines.

Who You Are
