The Field Service Director, North America is responsible for leading a diverse team focused on consistently growing our revenue, delighting customers, continually improving our business processes, and enabling team members to achieve performance and career goals. The Director of NA Service leads a cross functional team of sales, service, and applications scientists with a total population of 45 associates and revenue responsibility over $75M. This role requires a high level of collaboration with other functional groups, including Sales, Operations, Finance, and Human Resources. An integral part of this role is the ability to balance strategy and tactical execution by fostering creativity and innovation directed towards improving Molecular Devices' service team's performance, engagement, and core growth.

This position reports to the Vice President, Global Service, is part of the Global Service team and will be fully REMOTE.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and execute service strategies to drive core growth of service revenue, improve service delivery, and drive customer loyalty through strong post sale support.
  • Lead, improve, and sustain key service processes including but not limited to: Daily management, Service revenue, Quality, Inventory management, Team member onboarding, etc.
  • Display leadership by setting clear expectations, providing direction and coaching to ensure strong performance and achievement of revenue and profit targets. Drive quality and productivity by implementing standardized work processes and establishing supporting metrics.
  • Leverage data analysis tools and commercial operations partners to obtain business insights that support accurate forecasting, revenue achievement, and team member performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross departmental business partners to support improvement across all Molecular Devices core value drivers (core growth, working capital turns, inventory turns, associate retention, etc.).
  • Utilize and promote Danaher Business System tools to facilitate process improvements, associate enablement, and collaborative problem solving to consistently satisfy customers.
  • Champion engagement to build organizational and associate capabilities; develop future leaders, and build a bench with diverse talent.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, in an engineering, life sciences, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in field service or similar support roles with at least 5 years of management experience directly managing associates in the life science or diagnostics industry for an organization with a sales and service portfolio.
  • 3+ years' experience with lean business / continuous improvement tools. Ideally, having recognized certification for daily management, problem solving or funnel management tools.
  • Adept at organizing, analyzing and compiling data into cohesive reports and presentations utilizing Microsoft applications, Salesforce.com, Power BI, ServiceMax, Oracle.
  • Demonstrated high business acumen, with a strong ability to align operational execution with strategic goals, drive customer satisfaction, and contribute to revenue growth.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires up to 60% flying and/or driving travel, which will include overnight stays. Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Directly monitoring team leading performance metrics and champion change for success.
  • Forecasting service revenue performance and leading a team to achieve said forecast.
  • Taking personal responsibility for own performance and professional development and be a role model for company core values.

The annual salary range for this role is $180,000.00-$210,000.00. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
