The role

We are looking for a precise Proposal Engineer Steel to support our product managers and the internal sales organization. Your role is to take the initial ideas from the client/organization, do the initial feasibility check, produce a price and a specification ready for a contact. For this you work together with different departments within C&MC and Damen to come up with the best solution for your client. Next to the sales driven requests, you will ensure that our product is standardized together with the product manager and ensure that all sales data is up to date.

Tasks and responsibilities

As Proposal Engineer Steel within Damen Civil and Modular Construction you will fill your week with the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Support in the development of new sales opportunities
• Ensure compliancy of the products with maritime law and regulations
• Delivery accurate cost prices for our products
• Assist in managing the product portfolio

Education / skills and experience:

You have a creative and precise thought process with a strong technical affinity. You are the driving force behind our sales organization and are able to document your work with great accuracy. You are organized but thrive in a dynamic environment. Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile:

• 5+ years of experience of cost estimation in the maritime/technical environment
• Preferred: experience with pontoons, salesforce, proposals
• Affinity with concept design and software such as Autocad/Rhino/Solidworks
• Higher professional education or Bachelor in technical or maritime thinking level
• Good command of the English and Dutch language (written & verbal)
