Job Title

Under the general supervision of the Parking Operations Field Supervisor, conducts, monitors, and reports vehicle inventory and parking occupancy levels for all public parking garages and surface lots. Provides direct assistance and advice to guests needing parking availability and guidance. Supports and supplements the courtesy patrol teams offering vehicle location and other service-related needs.

What you will be doing:

  • Utilizes the Mobile License Plate Inventory (MLPI) system and software to facilitate occupancy management of parking facilities.
  • Facilitates and participates in mid-day and other daily counts of vehicles in each parking facility.
  • Monitors, communicates, and submits reports to the Field Support Lead regarding parking availability and occupancy levels.
  • Monitors Parking Status variable message signs (VMS) and reports discrepancies.
  • Monitors Parking Guidance System and reports discrepancies.
  • Monitors, identifies, and reports back to the Field Support Lead on any maintenance related issues that are discovered in the terminal garages, surface lots or roadways.
  • Provides guest assistance related to parking availability to mitigate capacity constraints.
  • Maintains various operational reports (i.e., parking space capacity, courtesy patrol logs, and daily inventory counts).
  • Responds and resolves customer service issues for all parking garages and surface lots.
  • Monitors and reports system outages and malfunctioning lane equipment including inventory software, gates, and variable message signs.
  • Activates appropriate directional signage when parking facilities reach critical occupancy.
  • Verifies and reports discrepancies related to parking availability capacities.
  • Communicates with DPS to report any public safety related issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists the Environmental Affairs Department in performing field observations of Airport activities with respect to potential environmental issues. Notify the Environmental Affairs Department of any observation that may have an environmental impact.

What you need:

  • Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in a customer service working environment.
  • One (1) year driving experience.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
  • Ability to communicate clearly using a two-way radio and mobile telephone.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle for extended periods daily.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment mobile devices.
  • Ability to operate onboard vehicle inventory software and equipment.
  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical computations involving percentages.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of manual logs.
  • Ability to type when typing for speed is not required.
  • Ability to maintain effective and harmonious working relationships.
  • Ability to work rotating and flexible hours and shift assignments and to report to work on short notice.

Special Requirements:

  • This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position.
  • Must have good private driving record, defined as; (a) no more than two (2) convictions of moving violations in the last 36 months; and (b) no DWI convictions in the last 60 months.
