Position: Process Engineer / Sr. Process Engineer

Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field

Experience: 3 to 8 years in a manufacturing or EMS environment, with a strong focus on SMT processes

Job Summary: The Process Engineer / Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes, especially in the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) area. The role focuses on improving quality, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency through process design, development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow established engineering principles to determine optimal sequences of operations for the fabrication and assembly of electronic products.
• Review and analyze product specifications, technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering data to develop and improve manufacturing processes.
• Prepare and update process documents such as operation sheets, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Develop and implement new production processes to meet product requirements with respect to cost, quality, and lead time.
• Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements to reduce cost, improve quality, and enhance throughput.
• Drive process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support the production team to resolve process-related challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Production, NPI, and Design Engineering to support new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement.
• Maintain process documentation and ensure compliance with ISO and internal quality standards.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes.
• Experience with SMT programming and machine handling (e.g., Yamaha, Fuji, Panasonic, etc.).
• Familiarity with pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, SPI, AOI, and related SMT inspection equipment.
• Understanding of IPC standards, ESD practices, and manufacturing best practices.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
