Position Summary
The Staff Software Development Engineer in Automation Production Support is a senior technical leader responsible for the stability, reliability, and operational excellence of enterprise automation solutions. This role owns production support strategy for RPA and automation platforms, leads complex incident resolution, and drives proactive improvements to reduce operational risk. The position partners closely with engineering, infrastructure, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure automations are resilient, scalable, and aligned to business outcomes. The Production Support role owns incident triage, root-cause analysis, and coordination of fixes to ensure stable and reliable production operations. The role works closely with development and platform teams to resolve issues efficiently and prevent recurrence. Participation in a rotating on-call schedule is expected, which may involve limited after-hours support for critical incidents or time-sensitive production events.

Required Qualifications
Extensive experience in software development and production support for enterprise systems
Strong expertise in automation/RPA platforms, scripting, and debugging complex workflows
Proven ability to lead incident response and root cause analysis in high-availability environments
Deep understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, release management, and production readiness standards
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting mission-critical automation in regulated or high-volume environments
Familiarity with monitoring tools, job schedulers, and orchestration platforms
Experience implementing resiliency patterns, failover strategies, and automation governance
Demonstrated leadership in driving operational maturity and continuous improvement

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is: $106,605.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
