The Senior Sourcing Manager is a key role to support and enable Global and Regional Category leaders and their strategies. The Senior Manager is expected to leverage multiple sources of internal and external data to support and execute sourcing strategies that ultimately drive a competitive advantage and value for Visa Inc. As a key support role for the Global Sourcing organization, you are accountable for understanding various tools, data sets and processes. You will need a strong sense of urgency and the ability to balance short vs. long-term needs. You will need a strong sense of urgency and the ability to succinctly frame issues and alternatives to drive decisions forward. This role will report to the site Director while also receiving strategic category guidance from the Latin America and Caribbean regional team.
Responsibilities
Support the global category team with the development of requirements, including a formal evaluation process to prioritize quality, cost, service, technology, and environmental requirements, future technology roadmaps, breakthrough goals, strategy includes benchmarking and internal and external gap analysis.
Utilize strategic sourcing process in all sourcing initiatives.
Manage complex, cross-functional teams in sourcing initiatives, understand and apply milestone checks and steering team concepts.
Strive to create additional value to exceed customer expectations, provide attention to detail.
Ensure agreed deliverables are met, dealing openly with constraints and issues.
Translate business goals and proposals into sourcing policies, plans and supplier relationships.
Bring business and sourcing perspectives together, helping the business to see the potential and impact of sourcing recommendations.
Drive cross-functional negotiation teams, influence stakeholders in the decision-making process, implement world-class negotiation techniques and contractual clauses.
Educate business and suppliers on TCO concepts and deliverables.
Work with legal counsel and other stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions of the contracts.
Participate and may lead in supplier selection and moderately complex contract negotiations, involving Legal and other departments as necessary, to achieve favorable terms on quality, delivery, and price, and ensure end-user needs are met and deliver cost savings.
Maintain external focus by leveraging industry peers, organizations, associations and by continuing to build strong relationships outside of Visa.
Communicate effectively and frequently, listen carefully, and actively seek and value the perspectives of others.
Drive completion of simultaneous projects by proactively considering new alternatives and driving critical thinking to optimize results.
Show an understanding of suppliers' business models, key drivers, measures and priorities.
Proactively explore developments in global supplier markets and supply technologies, identifying possible breakthrough sourcing solutions for the business.
Able to facilitate and lead cross-functional supplier business reviews at strategic and operational level.
Contribute significantly to the achievement of defined category performance targets and assist in driving the performance of associated suppliers.
