Job Summary:
Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure if experience permits.
Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure, as well as patient positioning.
Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
Education: Associate degree or higher in nursing from an accredited school of nursing and current license by Alabama Board of Nursing required. BSN degree preferred. Successful completion of basic life support - healthcare provider in all units.
Experience: One year of experience preferred. Must pass medication test.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Possess excellent interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with guests. Proficient oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills required.
