The Assistant Director of Sales / Senior Sales Manager – Leisure, is responsible for driving revenue performance across all leisure segments, with a strong focus on general leisure travel accounts, and group leisure business. This role requires a commercially driven sales professional with proactive account management and market development.
Your day-to-day:
Performance & Optimization:
• Ensure rate parity, content quality, and inventory accuracy.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management on dynamic pricing, promotions, and tactical campaigns to capture leisure demand.
• Analyse booking patterns, KPIs, and demand trends to identify opportunities for growth.
• Drive merchandising, seasonal campaigns, and market-specific offers to improve channel share.
General Leisure Accounts (FIT & Wholesale):
• Manage and grow a portfolio of travel agencies, tour operators, wholesalers, and FIT partners.
• Build annual account plans to drive production and strengthen long-term partnerships.
• Conduct regular sales calls, training sessions, and joint marketing initiatives.
• Identify new partners, markets, and distribution opportunities to expand reach.
Group Leisure Business:
• Proactively target and secure group leisure business including tour groups, MICE-related leisure extensions, sports groups, affinity groups, and special interest travel.
• Respond to group enquiries, prepare proposals, lead negotiations, and close business.
• Work closely with Events and Revenue teams to ensure accurate inventory, pricing, and space allocations.
• Maintain relationships with key leisure group agencies.
Revenue Delivery & Reporting:
• Deliver revenue targets across FIT, wholesale and group leisure.
• Monitor performance, produce monthly reports, and provide insights to the commercial team.
• Collaborate with Revenue and Operations to ensure a unified commercial approach.
Market Insights & Competitor Benchmarking:
• Stay ahead of trends in global leisure travel and group travel patterns.
• Analyse the competitive landscape and adjust strategies to maintain market share.
• Recommend new packages, promotions, and commercial opportunities based on data insights.
Collaboration & Internal Engagement:
• Partner with Marketing Communications to enhance visibility and storytelling across leisure channels.
• Work closely with Front Office, Reservations, and Operations to ensure seamless execution for leisure guests and groups.
• Provide training and updates to internal teams on segment needs, booking trends, and account expectations.
Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
What we need from you:
• Degree/diploma in marketing, hotel administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role with strong exposure to leisure, or group leisure segments.
• Proven success in managing travel trade partners and group travel business.
