We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly collaborative Master Data Analyst to join our Record-to-Report (R2R) team. The MDM Chart of Accounts Analyst plays a critical role in establishing new General Ledger (GL) accounts and ensuring they are accurately classified to support financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

What Shared Services Does:

A Shared Services Center (SSC) centralizes critical business processes, streamlining operations, reducing costs, and delivering consistent quality. By consolidating areas such as finance, procurement, payroll, and reporting, SSC eliminates duplication, frees time for strategic priorities, and fosters efficiency. SSC's primary functions include:

  • O2C (Opportunity-to-Cash): Manages the customer journey from order to payment, driving smoother revenue processes.
  • R2R (Record-to-Report): Enables robust financial reporting and accounting.
  • P2P (Procure-to-Pay): Ensures timely vendor payments and strong supplier relationships.
  • Center of Excellence: Drives innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Payroll (Hire-to-Retire): Ensures accurate, compliant employee payments.
  • Shared Services enables companies to focus on growth and strategic goals while maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Creation & Maintenance:

  • Set up new GL accounts based on business requirements and accounting standards.
  • Ensure proper account classification (assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, expenses).
  • Maintain account hierarchies and mappings across systems (e.g., ERP, reporting tools).

Governance & Compliance:

  • Enforce naming conventions, numbering logic, and usage policies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls (e.g., SOX).
  • Manage approval workflows for account creation or changes.

Data Quality & Integrity:

  • Perform regular audits to identify inactive, duplicate, or misclassified accounts.
  • Reconcile CoA across entities or systems to ensure consistency.
  • Support data cleansing and harmonization initiatives.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work with Finance, Controlling, Tax, and IT teams to align CoA structure with reporting needs.
  • Support M&A activities by integrating or mapping legacy CoAs.
  • Provide input for system upgrades or migrations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA).

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain CoA documentation, including definitions and usage guidelines.
  • Support internal and external audits with CoA-related data and explanations.
  • Provide training or guidance to users on correct account usage.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (required).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience with SAP or equivalent ERP in a shared services environment (required).
    • Experience in finance and accounting functions (preferred).
    • Familiarity with designing and standardizing transactional processes (preferred).
    • Working knowledge of the building products/construction industry (preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills combined with confident, informed decision-making.
    • Proven ability to implement process improvements and leverage technology for efficiency gains.
    • Familiarity with data governance, quality, and stewardship principles.
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across diverse audiences.
    • Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., SAP S/4HANA).
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
    • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration and customer service excellence.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid role with 3 days in office and fully in office for the first 6 months.
  • Normal office working conditions with a quiet noise level.

What CRH Offers You:

  • Highly competitive base pay
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs
  • Group retirement savings program
