Senior Security Engineer – Cybersecurity Team, Belfast, NI (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer who will join the Cybersecurity Team and help us make the world a better place through innovation, which means we're taking risks and questioning conventional thinking, and developing new technologies and ways of doing business – leading the way, every single day.

Your day-to-day – We do what others say can't be done

Responsible for day-to-day management of all aspects of security operations including but not limited to malware protection, network security devices, monitoring and alerting, behavior analytics, data protection, vulnerability management, nextgen firewalls and forensics.

Evaluate, recommend and implement enhancements, upgrades and mitigations for all security infrastructure, both on prem and in the cloud, to provide best defense against potential security threats continuously.

Provide constant enhancements and tuning for security monitoring to accurately detect potential security anomalous, suspicious or malicious activities to improve Wolfspeed's security monitoring capabilities.

Manage and oversee security of cloud environments in relation to IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and Office 365.

Create, implement, document, and update information security policies and procedures and assist and respond to internal and external security audits.

Manage third-party services and security vendors including SOC & EDR, vulnerability management, pen testing, network, web and email security management services to ensure that vendors services are consistent with agreed terms and conditions.

Create, maintain and update information security architecture, procedures and work instructions for day-to-day management of information security systems.

Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements to existing processes and systems.

Analyse cybersecurity incidents and act as an SME to provide tools, data and analysis to remediate the incident to minimize impact to the company.

Work collaboratively with infrastructure team and networking resources to define and implement security policies/procedures and ensure patching is completed for vulnerabilities found as part of vulnerability management process.

Provide in-depth technical support (3rd level) to other members of the IT organization as it relates to the security infrastructure.

Maintain awareness of new and emerging security threats with potential to harm company systems and networks.

Act as an advocate for security communicating effectively with all teams and promoting a security-first mindset.

Your profile – Ready to join the pack?

7+ years experience working in a security engineer/analyst role.

Experience with system, network and/or application security with solid understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols.

Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and security infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, IDS/IPS, web proxies, and Virtual Private Networks)

Expert level knowledge of Information Security best practices and platforms

In depth knowledge in system, engineering and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security

Previous experience with security analysis tools, detection technologies and other security technologies

Strong experience in design and implementation of security systems

Broad technical knowledge of current and emerging cyber threats, as well as security technologies and methods used to protect both corporate and customer facing network infrastructure

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills that can be applied to all levels of management

Strong evidence illustrating ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve business outcomes
