Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Application Production systems ensuring 24x7 mission critical availability.
  • Executing daily, monthly and quarterly Windows & Linux Systems Administration tasks.
  • Working with Cloud SaaS, PaaS and IaaS based models (IBM/SoftLayer, AWS, Azure).
  • Installing, testing, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining server hardware and operating systems (Windows and Linux) including virtual and container (K8s) environments.
  • Setup and maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaaC infrastructure automation (Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket, Terraform, Ansible, PS/Bash scripts, Nexus artefact repo, etc.)
  • MS SQL (various versions), MariaDB and PostgreSQL DB administration, upgrades, migrations, HA/DR solution planning and implementation (Replication, Mirroring, Failover Clustering, Streaming Replication, etc).
  • Administering and configuring Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, NFS, DFS, sFTPs, CA, Load Balancers, DNS, Active Directory, GPO, IIS, nginx, FW, SMTP/IMAP, Apache/nginx/Tomcat, ELK stack, RabbitMQ, etc.
  • Monitoring, tracking, and responding to critical alerts in order to ensure companies' products maintain 99.999% availability (Prometheus/Grafana/Zabbix).
  • Implementing changes and bug fixes, security patches.
  • Planning disaster recovery and switch-over plans.
  • Preserve and maintain service availability, performance, integrity, capacity and security on production and Pre-production environments.
  • Troubleshoot any of the infrastructure issues and escalate as necessary.
  • Work with cross functional, geographically distributed teams for providing deployment support across multiple environments.

Must Have:

  • 5+ years of experience building and releasing software on a large scale, complex J2EE SOA environment as SaaS product.
  • 5+ years' experience of web application (Java) maintenance and troubleshooting, application performance monitoring, automating day-to-day activities.
  • 5+ years' experience creating automated builds, executing deployments to multiple environments as well as setting up monitors to ensure availability of systems and coding in scripting languages
  • 5+ more years' experience with deploying to AWS or other Cloud computing environments.
