Sr Engineering Project / Program Manager

Cox Communications, Inc. is seeking a Sr Engineering Project / Program Manager for a full-time, remote position within the USA. This position can work remotely but requires the candidate to live in the specified city, state, or region. The Senior Engineering Project Manager is responsible for leading complex projects with minimal supervision, managing customer relationships, and ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads complex projects/programs with minimal supervision.
  • Serves as a project level customer contact and manages overall company customer interface relationships.
  • Provides functional guidance to customers, consulting staff, and management.
  • Develops project schedules and documentation; defines and assigns work to engineers.
  • Accountable for overall performance and delivery of defined scopes of work.
  • Establishes metrics and monitors progress to assure contract compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with new customers and conceptualizes solutions for new business opportunities.
  • Presents to executives and internal stakeholders by creating customer-facing decks.
  • Accountability for planning of resources for tasks, allocation, estimation, and scheduling.
  • Oversees projects with a typical cycle of 3 - 6 months or can be ongoing.
  • Provides guidance and direction to other project team members outside of owned projects.
  • Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies.
  • Communicates major milestones and identifies potential project risks; conducts regular status meetings.
  • Sets and manages client expectations, managing and escalating issues and changes.
  • Measures progress toward goals and revises project objectives; documents applying change control procedures.
  • Evaluates the impacts and risks of changes from multiple perspectives.
  • Develops methods to measure customer satisfaction; obtains feedback at critical milestones and at project completion.
  • Documents and understands technical environment dependencies for each project.
  • Accountable for tracking and managing the creation of functional designs.
  • Defines and recommends steps for process improvement and more effective project/program management.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • BS/BA degree in a related discipline with 5 years' experience in an MSP industry and an additional 5 years' experience as a technical PM.
  • Proficient in MS Office, a CRM such as SalesForce, and PM tools.

Preferred:

  • MSP or cloud experience is strongly preferred.
  • Industry certifications applicable to cloud and network services as well as project management are strongly desired.
