Assists in the planning and directs all activities including receiving, shipping, customer returns, accurate inventory management and administrative functions within the controlled substance (CS) cage/vault.
Ensures the efficient organization and layout of the DEA cage area by optimizing processes for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping customer orders while maintaining compliance with all governmental agencies and their regulations.
Primary point of contact for all inquiries regarding the receiving, shipping and warehousing of controlled substances. Works with internal partners (Sales, Regulatory and Quality Affairs, Purchasing). Answers questions and provides information to resolve any outstanding issues in a timely manner. Pro-actively communicates issues to appropriate individuals which may include: Customers, Sales, Purchasing, and Distribution Center Management.
Reviews current or future trends that indicate possible gaps in CS processes and makes recommendations based on findings.
Assists in conducting weekly status meetings with management team to review performance and to develop action plans.
Supervises the controlled substance team. This includes but is not limited to, performance management, attendance management, training, employee engagement and retention, and employee development.
Ensures standard operating procedures pertaining to the receiving, shipping and warehousing of controlled substances are followed at all times.
Maintains documentation in compliance with all state and federal rules and regulations as well as all company policies.
Manages customer returns and recalls for the CS network including, but not limited to, the receipt, documentation, disposition and timely usage of reverse logistics solutions.
Maintains an audit-ready DEA cage while being prepared to help facilitate successful audits alongside the management team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
