We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to join our development team, responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining robust backend services that power our entire ecosystem of applications.

As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you can expect to:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using .NET and C# technologies
- Architect and implement GraphQL schemas and resolvers to support client applications
- Work with both PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases, designing schemas, optimizing queries, and ensuring data integrity
- Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions for new features and services
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders in a remote-first environment
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards, testing practices, and documentation
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies on Azure
Who You Are:

- You have 5+ years of experience with .NET development, including strong proficiency with C# and ASP.NET Core
- Production experience with HotChocolate GraphQL including DataLoaders, subscriptions, and resolving N+1 queries at scale
- Strong knowledge of relational database design and optimization, with specific experience in both PostgreSQL and SQL Server
- Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting in distributed systems
- Solid understanding of system design principles, including microservices architecture, message queues, and caching strategies
- Ability to design and implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Graph API for integration with Microsoft 365 services
- Proficiency with Azure cloud services, including App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g., Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ)
- Understanding of domain-driven design principles and clean architecture
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or ARM templates
Additional Requirements:
Must be eligible to work in the US – no exceptions.
While the position is fully remote, candidate should be willing to travel to New York City 2 to 4 times a year, and have a large overlap with EST time zone for their working hours. Candidate is expected to work from the United States at all times.

Compensation:
- Salary Range: $175k - $225k / year
- Other Compensation: Additional compensation includes annual discretionary bonus
