Role Purpose: The role will develop a deep understanding of ceramic formulations and processes. The major focus of this position is to support tape-casting formulations and processes development for energy materials, battery materials, and other emerging ceramic products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in new products and process development
  • Drive learning efficiently and systematically by designing, planning, and executing experiments on lab and pilot-scale equipment
  • Support design of prototype equipment and pilot equipment, establish baseline processes and transfer process knowledge to engineering team
  • Manage day to day activities with hands-on experimentation and documentation/sharing of results
  • Define the appropriate process and response data to collect, then analyze and interpret that data to generate actionable insights
  • Coordinate with other process areas to build a shared understanding of the overall process window and deliver samples for internal and external use

Experiences/Education - Required Minimum: Master's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, ceramic engineering, material science engineering or related discipline, PhD preferred. 3+ years of experience in tape casting and advanced ceramics formulations.

Experiences/Education - Desired: Advanced ceramics or similar materials processing, battery testing, design and fundamental understanding, surface science and characterization, deep process integration and/or material understanding in battery-related materials, delivery of results in a high-tech, fast paced and dynamic environment, manufacturing and/or pilot manufacturing experience of advanced product, managing technicians; defining day to day work and objectives, combine theory, modeling and mechanistic understanding into practical problem solving and knowledge delivery.

This position supports immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $95,481.00 - $131,287.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
