• Support display customer complex technical problem-solving involving display systems. Using scientific and engineering approach, define customer problem definition and develop leading hypothesis of potential root cause. Validate technical hypothesis through either experiment or analytical modeling. Collaborate with cross-functional commercial and technical team to provide timely customer problem resolution.
• Perform measurement of glass and display system and if necessary, develop analytical modeling capabilities. Establish and implement experimental plan necessary to characterize glass performance and interactions in display system. Develop analytical modeling capabilities to predict display and optical system behavior using advanced analytical tools. Develop optical measurement techniques to obtain experiment data to validate technical hypothesis or modeling prediction.
• Participate or lead Display Innovation special projects that could involve new product concepts, complex customer problem solving and other critical business-related projects. Provide technical support to Display innovation projects, including but not limited to technical path assessment, propose and validate technical solution, optical performance evaluation, developing technical prototype, etc. Take leading role in scoping, gain agreement among stakeholders and execute long range display projects.
• MS or PhD in optics, Photonics or Physics; expertise in display is a plus. MS with >5 yrs of industry experience. PhD with >2 yrs of industry experience.
• Strong optics background in terms of solid knowledge and experience. Technical savvy with strong technical curiosity. Strong problem-solving skills with can-do attitude. Familiar with lab work with good hands-on experiment skills.
• Ability to operate in highly matrix organization with multiple reporting structures. Ability to collaborative & communicate across functions. Good written and oral English skills.
