Operations Team Leader - C-Shift

The Operations Team Leader is responsible for providing technical input and creating solutions for improving productivity and efficiencies in the assigned areas of the plant. This individual will be responsible for directly supervising the hourly employees and ensuring a motivated and skilled workforce. The individual will be required to assess skills, write performance reviews and recommends and/or provide training to ensure department personnel are technically competent to perform assign tasks in the facility. The Corning Fairport facility is a 3-shift facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Identify and support process improvements and cost reduction efforts.
  • Receives work assignments with general instructions.
  • Directs subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Interact with subordinate supervisors, outside customers and functional peer groups at management levels - interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.
  • Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, and checking work at frequent intervals.
  • A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the unit or sub-unit.
  • Encompasses the direction and inspection of the performance of individuals or a team of associates who put together components to make assemblies, subassemblies, or completed units, or make or process raw materials into finished products in an industrial environment.

Experiences/Education - Required:

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Have strong, data-driven, problem-solving skills.
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business documents.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

Experiences/Education – Desired:

  • 0-3 years in prior supervisory experience.
  • Certified in Yellow Belt or Green Belt.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to DMAIC or LEAN processes/projects, including Kaizen, 5S, waste elimination

The range for this position is $63,086.00 - $86,743.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
