Nurse Technician

Big Rapids Surgical Service department is a hospital based unit providing both inpatient and outpatient surgical care. There are 4 OR's including a dedicated C-section suite. Service lines include; General, OB/GYNE, Ophthalmology, Urology, Orthopedics, and podiatry. The interdisciplinary team strives to provide high quality care with a focus on safety, transparency, and patient experience.

Scope Of Work

Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Cleans patient's environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent. • Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days
