The Food Service Worker performs high volume food preparation of average difficulty at a correctional facility and/or leads inmates/residents in food production activities. Performs related duties as required.

• Assist/lead inmates/residents in preparation of volume meals, managing supplies and cleaning
• Prepare meals and special diets in accordance with approved menus by a registered dietitian.
• Assist/direct the serving of meals according to schedules, portions, and proper procedures.
• Conduct inspections for compliance with health and safety standards; resolve issues accordingly.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and in ordering and receiving food and food preparation supplies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
• Prefer experience in food service and good knowledge of volume food service operation, including safety and sanitation preferred.
• Must meet all state and local government food handling requirements.
• Must be available to work any hours, any shift.
• A valid driver's license is preferred, unless required by contract or applicable statute.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
