Core4ce is seeking a Senior Cyber Engineer that will serve as the subject matter expert for McAfee security tools as they apply to Defense Health Agency (DHA) platform infrastructure. This role ensures that all platform services—including VMware hosts, storage systems, and virtual machines—are secured, monitored, and compliant with DHA cybersecurity standards and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. The engineer will work closely with platform and storage teams to integrate McAfee solutions, enforce policies, and remediate vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary McAfee engineering lead for platform infrastructure, ensuring consistent deployment, operation, and optimization.
• Administer and maintain McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) across enterprise environments.
• Configure and support McAfee Endpoint Security (ENS) tools, host intrusion prevention, and data loss prevention (DLP) modules on ESXi hosts and virtual environments.
• Develop and apply security baselines for physical and virtual infrastructure in alignment with RMF, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and DHA policies.
• Monitor alerts, analyze logs, and resolve incidents related to McAfee-managed infrastructure.
• Collaborate with platform and storage teams to ensure security tools do not adversely impact performance or availability.
• Provide subject matter expertise for audits, vulnerability scans, and compliance reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
• 12+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity engineering roles, with at least 4 years of hands-on McAfee product experience.
• Deep knowledge of McAfee ePO administration and policy management.
• Proficiency with McAfee ENS, Host Intrusion Prevention (HIPS), DLP, and associated plug-ins.
• Experience securing virtualized environments (VMware vCenter, ESXi).
• Strong understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity standards, including RMF, STIGs, and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Requirements Guides (SRGs).
• Proven ability to analyze vulnerabilities and implement enterprise-level mitigations.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to interface with cross-functional teams and Government leadership.
• At least one relevant industry certification such as VMware Certified Associate – Cloud (VCA-C), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or similar certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating McAfee tools with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight).
• Familiarity with endpoint and platform monitoring tools such as VMware vRealize Operations Manager (vROps), ActiveIQ, and Commvault.
• Prior experience supporting DHA or DoD datacenter operations.
