Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
Sets up, programs, and runs test lab equipment
Designs tests to ensure customer specifications are met
Trains employees to perform tests and ensures compliance to retraining schedule
Provides feedback to Program Engineering, R&D Engineering, and Advanced Engineering on tests requested
Performs failure analysis on tests that do not pass test specifications
Troubleshoots lab equipment failures and helps to resolve issues quickly
Prepares test reports for external and internal customers
Provides feedback on test results to external customers and is available to attend customer meetings
Works with Lab Technicians with a goal of minimizing LTR's past due
Ensures the accuracy and consistency of data results through thorough documentation processes
Must operate in a manner that reinforces, supports, and is consistent with the Cooper Standard Leadership Model
Ensures 6S, housekeeping, and health & safety standards are maintained
Contracting, scheduling, and supervising tests with sub-contracting facilities
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
Education and Qualifications:
Four Year College or University Degree or equivalent
Two to four years of relevant work experience
Fabrication, blueprint reading skills, and equipment knowledge preferred
Knowledge of statistics
Strong mechanical aptitude, as well as technical and analytical problem-solving skills
Skills or working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in a team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work area without supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established alternatives
Impacts own team through the quality of the services or information provided; follows standardized procedures and practices and receives regular but moderate supervision and guidance
Exchanges information and seeks understanding
Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary

Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
