Field Service Technician
Job Title: Field Service Technician
Must Haves:
- At least 2 years of experience servicing and maintaining X-ray devices or similar equipment
- Experience with high and low voltage electronics
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams
- Proven troubleshooting expertise across electronic and mechanical systems
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 5 days per week, occasional weekends, domestic and international
- Strong interpersonal skills, specifically in conflict resolution
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate service records in CRM
The Service Technician is a Service Department role responsible for installation, maintenance, technical support, evaluations, case maintenance, customer support, and report generation. The technician performs both in-house and field work, supports the customer support queue, and collaborates closely with scheduling and engineering teams to deliver high-quality system service, training, and documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide incoming technical support, troubleshoot issues, and offer direction
- Maintain and update open service cases in a timely manner
- Support in-office operations during non-travel periods, assist with customer support queue and service tasks
- Conduct in-house evaluations and repairs
- Perform on-site services, installations, preventative maintenance, evaluations and repairs, relocations, upgrades, and user training
- Collaborate with the Service Coordinator for scheduling and customer communications
- Maintain detailed service records in the CRM, including reports, equipment manuals, and communication logs
- Travel up to 5 days per week, occasional weekends, manage domestic and international travel requirements
- Maintain the Field Service Kit provided by the company
- Provide written work instructions as needed
- Assist in-house service teams with customer support and factory repairs
- Work closely with engineering and product development to give feedback and suggest improvements
- Stay current on industry trends, product advancements, and technical developments
- Perform additional duties as required to meet company objectives

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Direct familiarity with X-ray technology and related systems
- Proficiency in software diagnostics and system integration
- Experience collaborating with engineering and product development teams, providing field feedback
- Experience writing clear work instructions and training end users
- Skilled with various computer applications, including CRM, ERP, and office tools
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, X-ray imaging, or related field
- Comfortable collaborating with diverse teams across industries, domestic and international
- Able to ensure team priorities and goals are met or exceeded
- Professional documentation standards and customer communication

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, CT.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
