The Senior MRO Value Engineer – Product Engineer will report to the MRO Value Engineering Leader in the MRO Technology & Cost group of the Assembly, Test, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (ATMRO) organization. This is an exciting opportunity that is scoped with a combination of quality engineering and manufacturing engineering to support the component repair business in MRO develop new capabilities to drive SQDC. You will be responsible for driving improvements in component repair by partnering with cross functional teams from local manufacturing engineers, product lines, repair and design engineering, and special process experts. The goal of the value engineering team is to improve broader MRO business targets on delivery timelines, cost, and productivity to support our customers. The role will have a major impact on the Commercial Engine Services (CES) business's goal to reduce TAT and improve margins. This role will also participate in special process auditing of the GE MRO network per specification 259.08 to ensure compliance with GE and industry specifications in our facilities. The preferred location is at the GE Aerospace STAC in Springdale, OH USA, but candidates located at other GE Aerospace MRO facilities will also be considered. Strong candidates can be considered for remote opportunities, but travel expectations will be higher.
As a Senior MRO Value Engineer – Product Engineering, you will report to the MRO Value Engineering Leader and play a critical role in driving improvements in component repair processes across the GE Aerospace MRO network. This role is scoped with a combination of quality engineering and manufacturing engineering to support the component repair business. The position is based at the GE Aerospace STAC in Springdale, OH, USA, but candidates at other GE Aerospace MRO facilities or remote locations will also be considered. Travel expectations will vary based on location. Key responsibilities include: executing special process audits of the GE MRO network based on GE Aerospace 259.08 quality requirements, ensuring compliance and corrective actions across the global network; collaborating with repair shops and HQ to industrialize newly developed repairs at high quality, meeting SQDC metrics before deployment; identifying and solving constraints to achieve a 30-day repair turnaround time (TAT), including technical process improvements, capex justification, and demand/equipment capacity alignment; driving productivity improvements by deploying best practices globally across the network; serving as the primary focal for improvement efforts in dimensional and visual inspection, repair workscoping, and full repair processes for components; gaining awareness of the latest inspection technologies, such as CMM and digital vision systems, and supporting consistent implementation across the network; and ensuring products and services meet quality standards and manufacturing processes are capable and qualified.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-starting, and passionate about driving improvements in aerospace manufacturing and repair processes. They thrive in a collaborative, global environment and are skilled in technical communication and influencing diverse teams.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or at least 4 years of experience in an MRO manufacturing environment. At least 3 years of experience in product or process engineering for aerospace hardware, preferably aircraft engine hardware, including inspection practices. Knowledge of overhaul and component repair processes. Fluent in English, written and verbal. Ability to travel 50% to international destinations, including but not limited to: USA, Brazil, United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan.
GE Aerospace MRO shop experience. Demonstrated team leadership, collaboration, and facilitation skills. Strong technical communication skills and willingness to improve communication and influencing skills in diverse and distributed work environments. Experience in auditing. Knowledge of aviation supply chain and quality practices. Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams. Keen listener with an innate drive to succeed.
Full-time position with 40 scheduled weekly hours. Travel requirements: 50% international travel. Background and drug screening required. Work authorization and citizenship requirements may apply. The base pay range for this position is $111,700.00 - 148,800.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September 5th, 2025.
