Senior Geospatial Cloud Engineer

As a Senior Geospatial Cloud Engineer, you will shape our geospatial strategy and infrastructure. Your contributions will enhance the accuracy, accessibility, and scalability of our geospatial data systems, enabling smarter decision-making across the organization. By leveraging cutting-edge cloud and container technologies, you will drive innovation and efficiency in how we manage and deploy geospatial applications. You will be a valued member of our Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with the Infra Architect.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of geospatial solutions using GIT, Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon EKS, Docker, and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Integrate geospatial data into existing systems to improve data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable geospatial architectures.
  • Ensure security and compliance of geospatial data and applications within AWS.
  • Optimize geospatial data workflows for performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation including system architecture, data flow diagrams, and user guides.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to geospatial infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements.
  • Stay current with advancements in geospatial technologies and apply them to solutions.
  • Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in geospatial analysis and development.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the company's geospatial capabilities.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Hartford, CT. What you need to have to be considered:

  • 5–8 years in geospatial analysis and application development.
  • Proficiency in Red Hat OpenShift, GIT, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS).
  • Strong experience with AWS CloudFormation and cloud-native architectures.
  • Deep understanding of geospatial data integration and processing.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration and CI/CD pipelines.

Salary and other compensation: Applications will be accepted until September 7, 2025. The annual salary for this position is between $91,000 - $100,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
