Joining Collins Aerospace
Provide technical and analytical support for Engine & Control Systems/Environmental and Airframe Control Systems products from preliminary design phase through detailed design, testing & validation, production, and operational services.
What You Will Do
- Perform structural analysis of conventional & additively manufactured complex aerospace components including static, dynamic, thermal (steady state & transient), fatigue life, fracture mechanics (residual life) predictions and damage tolerance analyses.
- Provide documentation of analyses results and recommendations in the form of formal reports and presentations for management and customers.
- Assist in creating test plans and support validation and verification testing of components for thermal and dynamic performance and behavior. Use this information to calibrate and improve the analytical methods.
- Participate in cross-discipline integrated product team as structures focal to provide design recommendations and solutions to develop products that meet technical, weight and cost targets.
- Continuously pursue ways to develop, improve, and validate analytical methods and processes to improve productivity and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Experience with finite element modeling tools such as Abaqus, Ansys, Nastran or equivalent.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in fracture mechanics and NASGRO or equivalent tool is a plus
- Possess experience in 2D and 3D CAD tools including, UG NX, CATIA or equivalent
- Experience in dynamic/vibration analysis and testing

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
