Summary: The patient transporter brings patients to and from their designated testing centers, delivers equipment to the nursing floors, and removes/delivers blood products or sterile supplies. Responsibilities include transporting designated in-patients and out-patients, assisting in maintaining a safe and orderly work environment, participating in setting and attaining department goals, maintaining confidentiality of all aspects of patients and their families at all times, and utilizing communication skills effectively with patients, families, visitors, medical staff, and hospital personnel. The role also involves keeping current regarding job related duties through required inservice education and staff meetings, formulating and using effective working relationships with all health care staff, patients, and significant others, assertively seeking guidance and direction as needed, providing coverage for Code 99's, serving as dispatcher as needed, applying basic trapeze set ups and retrieving equipment for other traction sets, fulfilling all compliance responsibilities related to the position, and performing other duties as assigned.
Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT
Other Information: High School Diploma or GED required. Must understand and speak conversational English and possess listening and comprehension skills. Must be able to work with young, elderly, sick and physically challenged people. Bilingual desired.

Salary Range: $16.50 - $24.18 Hourly
