Operations Manager

We're seeking a proactive and strategic Operations Manager to lead and optimize daily business operations. This role involves working closely with leadership to drive continuous improvement through technology, policy development, and process efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership to implement new technologies and process improvements
  • Help shape company policies that enhance productivity and workplace culture
  • Oversee equipment fleet operations, including maintenance, tracking, and utilization
  • Manage inventory systems, including audits, forecasting, and procurement
  • Handle purchase orders and maintain accurate records
  • Source and evaluate vendors for quality, cost, and reliability
  • Lead vendor negotiations and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Supervise a team of 3–5 employees, providing mentorship and performance feedback
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable team environment
  • Identify and implement operational improvements
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and internal policies

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven background in operations, logistics, or equipment management
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation
  • Proficiency with technology tools and systems
  • Familiarity with purchase orders and inventory control

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the rental or construction equipment industry
  • Mechanically inclined, even without direct equipment experience
  • Knowledge of dispatch, MS Office Suite, inventory systems, and parts management
  • Active in professional networking groups or industry associations

This is a permanent position based out of South Windsor, CT. Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00/yr.
