Defines and solves all major manufacturing and assembly problems and takes corrective actions as necessary. Identifies imperfections in manufacturing processes, including design and process engineering, material, machinery and equipment, and personnel. Communicates with broad range of departments to incorporate corrective action. Establishes new procedures and techniques as appropriate.
Maintains on-going accuracy of manufacturing process documentation with regard to product engineering specifications and manufacturing capabilities. Estimates cost of new process techniques and designs in support of cost reduction programs. Coordinates implementation of these plans with all departments. Prepares, implements and supervises layout, tooling, product flow and related engineering functions necessary to bring new product line from blueprint stage to production.
