Job Opportunity: ASL Fluent Staff For Per Diem Positions

We are currently seeking ASL fluent staff for per diem positions in the Winsted area. This position is with individuals who are dually diagnosed and use ASL to communicate.
Job Descriptions/Duties:
- Assists individuals in daily activities including daily hygiene functions
- Implements behavioral goals, teaching strategies, monitoring procedures, exercise programs and other team recommended programs and procedures
- Assists in the completion of individuals assessments
- Supervises and assists in the preparation of food for individuals following special prescribed diets and food consistency
- Provides active treatment to individuals
- Models positive adult roles in the community
- Fosters community belonging through person-centered appropriate activities
- Provides meaningful community experiences to individuals
- Maintains specified level of supervision of individuals in the community
- Documents case notes, communication logs, programs, incident reports, abuse and neglect reports, safety reports, fire drills, time sheets, mileage forms and other required documentation timely and accurately
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 to 6 months-related experience and/or training, or human service training certificate.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid Connecticut Driver's License
- Ability to obtain the following licenses/certifications:
- Department of Developmental Services - Medication Certification (to be obtained within six months of hire)
- Public Service License valid for the state of Connecticut (if applicable)
- CPR and First Aid certification
Salary:
$18.25/hr. Increases to $18.67/hr after 6 months
